A number of breeds like the Cane Corso, Presa Canario, and Dogo Argentino are often confused as pit bulls. These breeds are all somewhat related, but there are serious differences.

There are a number of challenges in identifying pit bulls today. The term pit bull generally refers to American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers. However, there is so much bad breeding and intentional mixing occuring, that the term "pit bull" now encompasses thousands of dogs who look nothing like these breeds. I know what A "Pit Bull" is I own True Blood American Pit Bull Terriers, not a Facsimilie, or a Mix that will create me a bigger Pitbull, all these SO CALLED "PitBulls" that are huge or big heads are mixed, an average PitBull way generlly 40 to 60 pounds, anything larger leaves a possiblity that it is not purebred,

The Word PITBULL does refer to these three breeds, and you are correct, but the term PIT and how the AMSTAFF STAFFIE and the APBT obtain this, was from these were orginaly fought NOT IN THE USA they were actually put into PITS not cages or rooms, or pins, kennels but a large circle dug about 3 feet into the ground wich is called a PIT, this is where the term PIT got added to the BULL

Any one who thinks they know what a American Pit Bull Terrier looks like, just take the test, see if you are knowledgeable about these dogs

peope who are not are the cause the Pitbull group amstaffs apbt and staffies are being blamed for a majority of attacks it did not commit,

Also I was reading questions about APBT and the AKC and was noticeing how many people said AKC dont recognize APBT but UKC will, this is somewhat factual becuase AKC did not recognize there dogs as purebred, I have AKC papers where my APBT is registered with the AKC,

There is alot of people who think they own a true pitbull, and have so much knowledge about them, I have raised and bred, Purebreed American Pitbull Terrier since I was Eight, I am very knowledgeable about these dogs, and never did i mix them,

I have just obtained ownership by rescue of a presa canario/cane corso mix about 6 months old, i knew off the bat it was not a SO CALLED PitBull, just to make sure that i was correct and backedup my knowledge about these dogs i had Blood test run and a Canine Specialist see what the breed was and i was correct, I have walked this dog many of times, and all i hear is thats a badass pit, oh hes got a pit, man thats and awsome pit when are you going to breed him, i have a pit female, i want to use your pit as a stud, i am like man you are so stupid you know nothing about pits, this is why people like you give the purebreds a bad rap, they dont believe that he is not PITBULL until i show them the test results

OK i have read about these socalled blue noses everyone is talking about, there a mix breed pit, these dogs mix started with a Ca da Bou and the alaphaha blue blood bulldog along yes along with the Purbred AMSTAFF to complete a more larger SO call blue nose pitbull, head size wich a phsycial disrupt is from the most common bull mastiff and also the size and weight,

and all this talk about blues noses are moody bi polar and can turn on its owner with cause and that rednoses are they way to go, is straight up bullshit, any dog has it time fuse of how much it takes to rage, some are more temperamental than others,

Also the Terrier groups named here have also been used as A hog dog, becuase they will ban together to take down hogs, wich i believe to be way better than fighting them, this is very common in East Texas where most of the country lyes
