Do you know how the name “bull dog” surfaced?

In Great Britain, originally, and later in America were very obsessed with the bloody fights between their bulls and dogs. The canine is mainly used by the dogs to hang on to a bull’s neck. The poor animal eventually dies and by doing all this the dogs develop good strength in its teeth and jaws.

The pit bulls show keen interest in sports so they are the automatic choice for these activities. They showed various skills and characteristics to be a fine sports dog. As the sports arena developed, the centre of attraction fell to the fight between the pit bulls and not just among the bulls themselves. It is from these canines that many bull dog terriers started to shine and is very popular today.

American Staffordshire Terrier is an indigenous bull dog terrier which is of great interest everywhere since it has the capacity to fight and also has opposing characters.

These dogs, though, are physically very strong and powerful are not vicious. These dogs are fond of its children and also very associated with its family. It develops its physical features because of its inclination to fight and some sports activities. But it is to be understood that their aggressiveness and its strong features can sometimes work against them. However, their attachment to its family and nature is not to be questioned. Thus it has the right ingredients to be the best pets and great watchdogs.

Amstaff terriers are used extensively for illegal dog fighting as they are known for its love for challenges. Their reputation isn’t high but more often than not associated with the pit bulls.

Problems might arise from irresponsible and stupid training to these dogs. Only a very few Amstaff terriers are properly and sensibly trained. What can be depressing is that a lot of pit bulls are very badly treated, especially the sadistic owners.

Not many actually know what pit bulls are. Many feel that these dogs should be called differently as the name can be assumed to have violent ideas about the dog. The breed is not fully recognized by the United Kennel Club or the American Dog Breeders, yet, and so their name remains to be American Bull Terrier.

It is true that the American Pit Bull Terrier is very violent in nature; this shouldn’t be assumed as they are very brutal. As you know, these dogs are very badly treated and hence shown in their brutal activities. The training given to them is very explosive. It is actually a people loving breed.

The American pit bull is also known for its hardworking nature. During the physical activities they are totally used and all its energy will be spent. Hence, for people who need company and training in this kind of physical training they could use these dogs. If you aren’t a sports or an athletic person, do not take your chances of adopting this breed.

American Pit Bull Terrier isn’t really recognized well mainly due to the fact that it is not purebred. They aren’t very well known officially for this reason. Kennel Club makes it clear that a standard for dogs to be popular is that it ought to be purebred. Until more information on these dogs is excavated, they will remain to be called nasty.
