Breeds of terriers have come a long way from their origins in Great Britain and Ireland. From being bred as hunter dogs and pest controllers in the 18th century, they have now evolved and are currently developed as companion dogs and domestic pets. In the olden days, most terriers were stationed in farms to catch rabbits and rats that destroy farm crops. Fell and hunt terriers were used to hunt down and kill foxes. A number of them were also known for their swimming abilities and were used to catch otters even in deep waters. Then, terriers were divided into two types, the short-legged and the long legged varieties.
These days, breeds of terriers are classified by their function and size. Despite being primarily bred as household pets, there are still terriers used in hunting. They are now categorized as working terriers, also known as hunting types. They are utilized for quarry tracking and locating. These hardworking terriers go undergrounds, sometimes even to bolt quarries. Examples of these are Patterdale Terriers and Jack Russell Terriers. There are smaller versions of full grown terriers known as toy terriers. They still retain terrier characteristics sans training, and are not to be mistaken as lap dogs. Yorkshire terriers are prime examples of toy terriers. Lastly, there are also terriers that are classified as Bull type. Originally crosses between terriers and bulldogs, they became a separate breed in the 1800s. A number of Bull type terriers, like American Pit Bull Terriers, are being used as fighting dogs, which is illegal.
The classification of breeds of terriers may also depend on different breed groups. The international organization Fédération Cynologique Internationale, or FCI classifies terriers into sections, as the categories stated above, while local kennel clubs just put together all terriers in a group.

can’t believe it’s drawn out of nothing, could be a photography!
Great talent Der Mann.
I'm sorry to have to say this but there is no best way to breed a Jack Russell. The country is over run with them. People get fed up when their cute little pup grows into an irritating adolescent, then they abandon them in any way they can. A customer of mine even had one put over her garden wall on Christmas Day unwanted.
With the present economic climate things couldn't be worse for dogs. Please don't bring more of them into the world.
I had a mini fox terrior
they are the best dogs!
anyway
they are very hyper..they need to be excersised everyday for atleast 30 minutes
terriors are hunting dogs…(correct me if i'm wrong)
They are very very playful and energetic
If your living in an apartment..you better excersise the terrior twice a day
For me i had a huge yard for my terrior to run around..and he does run around a lot by himself
Bull Terriers are incredible dogs! Their intelligent, loyal, and active in their own way. I would advise you, however, to really research the breed before even thinking about owning one. Bull Terriers are part of the terrier group, which means they were inherently bred to be independent, as their job in life was to take care of small rodents around the owner's house. Along with their independence comes their strength, which when the 2 are combined, can attest to a feisty attitude that can seem hard to control! Bullies are not for the faint of heart, nor for 1st time dog owners. I would suggest you check out these websites–they have great information that could help you make your decision.

We own a 1 year old and he is the best thing in our lives! But this is only because of our constant training efforts, adequate exercise, and the right food/diet. Whatever the breed, when your dog is well balanced in all of these areas, you have a great companion that you can enjoy to the fullest! Good luck in your quest for a bully!!
An older dog would probably be better for a home with a baby, because he/she would be less energetic and less likely to attack the baby. Whatever breed you get, definitely get your dog from a shelter and not a pet store. If you don't like the dogs that are at the shelters now, keep checking back to see if they get more dogs. I would recommend a breed like a Golden Retriever or a Labrador, since they are usually very friendly. I'm happy that you're getting a dog, just be sure to take good care of him/her.
You’re really good man. You’ve got excellent talent.
Nice work, you did pretty good.
I have gotten 2 Bostons in the last 7 months or so both are females, what I have determined is they are incredibly smart, and stubborn at times, but when they get the hang of things they are really great at it.
It seems to me they can also be a bit vengeful, but they also seem to have a sense of humor (even when I don't think it is so funny) and are so loving and affectionate and playful.
Consistency is the key.
The first Boston has turned into one of the best dogs I have ever owned, and who can resist those faces?
The only thing I can think of that you haven't covered is that when you fill out your adoption form they will ask you about your living situation. When you tell them you live with your parents they will ask for the number and call them to make sure it is okay for you to bring this dog into their home. I adopted my Jack Russell Terrier Chihuahua mix shortly after turning 19. He is turning 2 next month. I hope things work out for you. Good luck.
Incredible! He looks so life like. Just amazing…and what a beautiful subject
Brilliant Willy, Just Brilliant =D
If you like big dogs then Huskies are the way to go. I own three of them.
If you want a small dog Corgies (sp?) are the best. My cousin owns one. They have no tail.
The problem with both breeds is they shed like hell but neither gets that 'wet dog' smell no matter what the other answerers say.
Excellent work. Pleasure to watch. Perfect music
))
whoa!!it looks like a PICTURE!
ur an amazing painter!:D
Any small breed that meets up with your dogs tempo, you really don't want too many opposites, unless like me have pits, and chihuahua's get along great with them, pretty funny.
